Lower Makefield Youth Running (LMYR) is a community-based youth program focused on building confidence, healthy habits, and a lifelong love of running. Our Elementary Running Program introduces Grades K–5 athletes to the fundamentals of running, teamwork, and goal setting in a fun, supportive environment — no experience needed!
Through age-appropriate training, engaging games, and team-based challenges, athletes learn proper running form, pacing strategies, and the importance of consistency and effort. More importantly, they develop resilience, sportsmanship, and confidence that extends beyond the course and into the classroom and everyday life.
We offer programs in both the Fall and the Spring seasons:
Fall Season (September–November) | Spring Season (March–May)
8-week after-school program
Designed for Grades 1st–5th
Focus on the 1-mile distance
Character-based coaching emphasizing confidence, courage, and sportsmanship
Fun running games, drills, and team focused activities
Led by a USATF-certified running coach, marathoner, and mom of three young runners.
